Bio
Santino Fernandez aka "Morphogenetic" first started getting into Electronic Music in the early '90s, during the height of the Rave scene. Still being too young to attend these events, he would slowly become informed through friends about the many great artists and styles of sounds that would one day influence him to begin his path in music as well. In 1997, Santino acquired his first set of turntables. Putting together a mixing set up with some of his local friends, he would quickly learn to become a very versatile DJ, playing everything from Breaks, Electro/Techno, and even for a short while, Drum and Bass.
In 1999, Santino returned home to Maryland, near Washington D.C. where he was born. Taking some time to put things into perspective, he began writing his own music, also working to fulfill his vision of establishing the label "Fundamental Bass Intelligence ( FBI )" with his new partner in crime... and love, his beautiful wife Starrie Williamson aka Selekta Stjarna (www.selektastjarna.com). In 2003, Santino was first discovered by Dona-Li Records (www.dona-li.com), where he appeared on "The Guilty Compilation Vol. 2" with Dark Vektor, Atomlive, Boris Divider and Scape One as well as the latest Guilty Compilation Vol. 5 where he wrote the song, Music of the Spheres with Dark Vektor.
In 2004, the first Morphogenetic single was released on his imprint FBI Recordings, followed by the 2006 release of his collaboration with Mandroid, "Duality E.P.". Over the years Morphogenetic has been released on other fantastic labels like Streetsounds, Subsonic Device, and Twilight 76. Currently, Morphogenetic has just released on the new Mandroid album "Anti-Gravity Machines", where he remixed the original song alongside Aux 88, and Sbassship. You can also find his works on a new remix for Battery Park Studio's new release "Unique Morning", featuring Prototype and Unique, as well as a song on Crobot Muzik's new Dalekovod Vol. 3 compilation, and the "Advanced Funk Vol. 1" compilation on Binalog Productions.
Look out for more material coming soon, including remixes for Supreme.ja.
