electronic music can be split in to so many sub genres, and I'm a massive fan of most material on Warp Records, Planet Mu, Monotonik, Ninja Tune, Crazy Language and Sublight Records. I also listen to a lot of film score - classical/electronica stuff, such as John Powell, John Barry, Jesper Kyd, Alan Silvestri, Eric Senna, Bernard Herrmann.. As long as it is dark, mysterious, melodic and interesting, you can guarantee I'll enjoy it :)
It's funny that I rarely listen to music, but its always in my head... When I read or what not I like classical music like Samuel Barber, Chopin, Pachelbel, etc... When I'm working I listen to a range of old R&B form the 60's, older RadioHead, Leonard Skynard, and 90's alternative rock. There are days I break out the Death Records and listen to some black metal to get inspiration from that band. They really were amazing muscially.
the whole range of electro and subgenres is wicked to play..however I do like the whole "seattle shit" nirvana, alice in chains, soundgarden, audioslave...

One of the tuffest questions you could possibly ask me as I always listen to Electronic music probably since the age of 10... I think I don't have another favourite style it's that simple. Of course I listen to other styles but I am more passionate about Electronic music. To answer the question: The first thing that came to mind was Jazz. I know a handful of Jazz musicians and been to a few of their gigs. One plays trumpet and the others all bass. Or Soul and early Hip Hop music. Again I'd say I only really listened to R&B, Hip Hop and Soul as a teenager, at roller discos and in clubs. I learned how to dj at that time though, when I was 14... so, it gave me my mixing abilities... and I was influenced by it.... Anyway, I like all the responses here and I am sure if I think of something more specific I'll post it. Peace!
